How To Write A Conflict Essay

As a student, you may have slaved over an essay or assignment and spent days researching the topic and then just as long writing it, only to end up with a failing grade. How should you cope with this? What can you learn from a failing grade?

Every contest has a set of rules. Read the official contest rules and read them again. Print the rules and using a highlighter marker, highlight the deadline, the word limit, the method of entry, and the exact topic. Also highlight the breakdown of how the descriptive essay will be judged, so you know what aspect is the most important – whether that is creativity or originality or something else. Highlight the prize structure and eligibility requirements.

While you discuss these various topics, share photographs. Photographs spark memories and storytelling. You may walk away from the day with more information than you thought possible about your family. Make sure you take photographs of the people attending your Thanksgiving feast to share next year and for generations to come.

Each time you are about to work on your essay, read the official contest rules again. You would be surprised how something you glossed over the first time may seem much more significant on the second or third reading. No matter how brilliant and perfect your agriculture essay is, if you don’t follow the rules exactly as specified, you could disqualify yourself and have wasted your time and chance at a wonderful opportunity.

You see, the opposite of a person with an “I’m the prize” mentality is someone who constantly sells themselves short. They don’t believe they deserve the kinds of relationships they ultimately want, so they settle for “second best.” Eventually they get used to “second best” – being just good enough – and it becomes a self-fulfilling prophecy.

Initially, I was stumped. I had previously interviewed for some very low level positions and been hired without challenge, so nothing prepared me for this type of question. I just started writing and ended up writing essentially about the energy it took to do a good job at work and how important that was. I got the job.

If you need to make your points, make it as concise as possible. When enumerating several points or reasons, make sure that you arrange them from the most important down. And arrange them in a logical manner wherein the evaluator can see the flow of your reasoning.
